About Us

Knitport’s philosophy is to blend artistry and quality with style and chic. When My Phuong learned of the expectancy of her first grandchild, she created her first line of baby knitwear. The line is fashionable and functional. From this personal beginning grew numerous lines of unique and practical knitwear.

Six months after the opening of Knitport, My Phuong’s youngest daughter, Brenda, left her corporate career to form a mother / daughter partnership. Combining her love of knitting with her business background, Brenda has contributed to Knitport’s growth by creating her own designs, teaching and expanding the products and services offered by the boutique.  Together, My Phuong and Brenda offered superior service and craftsmanship in a setting that is tranquil, modern and inspiring.

In 2008 My Phuong published her first book Chic Knits Stylish Designs from Knitport.  It showcased 16 of her chic designs to popular review.  Then the summer of 2009 My Phuong realized that she would like to go back to what inspired Knitport in the first place and that is her passion for designing.  Knitport closed its doors but launched its online store to continue selling yarns, needles, supplies and books.

Currently, My Phuong is working on her second book and does guest appearances per her clients and yarn shop’s requests.  Brenda is adding to My Phuong's growing family with her first child and maintaining Knitport's online store.
